Prof Xiaodong Liu

Head of Software Systems Research Group, School of Computing, Edinburgh Napier University,UK

Prof Xiaodong Liu received his PhD in Computer Science from De Montfort University, UK and joined Edinburgh Napier University in 1999. He is currently leading the Software Systems research group in the SoC, Edinburgh Napier University. Prof Liu is an active researcher in software engineering with international excellence reputation and leading expertise, focusing on its emerging themes including pervasive systems (Internet of Things), services-oriented architecture, evolution of cloud services, and intelligence-driven software engineering. He has led 10 externally funded projects as the PI, and published 120 papers in established international journals and conferences, 5 book chapters and 3 research handbooks. He is the inventor of 1 patent registered in UK and USA and the founder of a spin-out company. He has been the chair, co-chair or PC member of a number of IEEE and IASTED International Conferences. He is the editorial board member of 4 international journals and editor of 3 research books and 2 journals special issues. He is a senior member of IEEE Society and a member of British Computer Society.

Dr. Hui-Ming Wee

Dr. Hui-Ming Wee is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. He has received his B.S. degree (honors) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Strathclyde University (UK), M. Eng. from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Cleveland State University, Ohio (USA). He has received an excellent research award from the Taiwan Ministry of Science & Technology, excellent life researcher award and Medal for Distinguished Industrial Engineer Award and World Class Professor Award from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Indonesia). He has published more than 500 papers in refereed journals, international conferences and book chapters.

Prof. F. Benjamin Zhan

Dr. F. Benjamin Zhan (Chinese name: 湛飞并) is professor of Geographic Information Science in the Department of Geography at Texas State University. He was the founding director of the Texas Center for Geographic Information Science, and served as director of the center from 2003 to 2015. Among other honors, Professor Zhan was recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarly/Creative Activities at Texas State University, and held a Chang Jiang Scholar Guest Chair Professorship at Wuhan University in China from 2008 to 2011.

Prof. Thomas Blaschke

University of Salzburg, Austria

His research interests include methodological issues of the integration of GIS,remote sensing and image processing also with aspects of participation and human-environment interaction. Prior positions comprise several lecturer, senior lecturer and professor positions in Germany, Austria and the UK as well as temporary affiliations as guest professor and visiting scientists in Germany and the US including about 115 journal publications. He is author, co-author or editor of 17 books, received several academic prices and awards including the Christian-Doppler Prize 1995 and was elected as a corresponding member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in 2015. He has been and is projet leader in various international and national research projects and serves on various editing boards of international journals, conference committees and for a dozen national research councils.

Prof. Shihong Du

Peking University, China

Shihong Du is currently Associate Professor of GIScience in the School of Earth and Space Sciences at Peking University, and the vice director of the Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS. His research interests include spatial knowledge representation and reasoning, as well as intelligent mining and understanding of geospatial data including GIS and remote sensing data. He authored / co-authored over 80 Journal articles and 2 books, and was awarded the New Century Excellent Talents in University and Second Place Award of National Science and Technology Progress in Surveying and Mapping.

Zhihong Qian's research work focuses on wireless network and communication system, including key technologies of wireless sensor networks (WSN), internet of things (IOT), radio frequency identification (RFID), wireless ad hoc networks, theory and applications of wireless personal area network based on bluetooth and zigbee, signal analysis and process of wireless network system. In the latest 5 years, He authored and co-authored, as the corresponding author, more than 48 research papers in national or international academic journals and conferences, as well as 3 books on wireless networks. He has been granted 5 patents, and obtained 12 grants as a principal investigator or main co-operator, some of which are running currently. In the latest 5 years, Zhihong Qian has supervised more than 61 graduate students, and 18 PhD students, the program for those 35 of whom are on-going now. He is recipient of several awards, and referee or reviewer for more than 20 journals and numerous conferences. He is the senior member of IEEE, and the senior member of Chinese Institute of Electronics. He also served on several institute committees, such as the Electronic Circuit and System Council of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the National Higher Education Teaching Guidance Committee for Internet of Things Teaching, and the National University Students' IoT Application Innovation Competition Committee. He is the General Chair of CSIE 2011, the Session Chair of ICEMMT 2011, U-World-2011 and the 22nd Academic Annual Meeting of Electronic Circuit and System Council of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, as well as TPC member or Keynote Speaker for a number of conferences.

Prof. Hongzhi Wang

Hongzhi Wang is an associate Professor of Department of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology. His interested rearch area includes big data management, data quality, graph data management, web data management. He has published more than 100 papers. He has also been PI of more than 10 projects including three NSFC projects, and co-PI of 973, 863 and NSFC key projects. He was awarded microsoft fellowship, Chinese Execellent database engineer and IBM PHD fellowship. His PHD thesis was selected as CCF outstanding PHD thesis.

He Wen was born in Hunan, China, in 1982. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Hunan University, Hunan, China, in 2004, 2007, and 2009, respectively. He is currently an associate professor with the College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hunan University, China. His present research interests include power system harmonic measurement and analysis, power quality, and digital signal processing.
